Meditation and mindfulness is no longer just for hippies and monks. There is a rapidly growing movement of business owners, entrepreneurs and executives that understand that how they nourish and care for their mind & spirit, is as important to their success as how they take care of their physical bodies.
And I am most definitely one of them! Meditation has been life-changing for me in many ways. Not only am I calmer and more balanced but my mind is sharper and I am more creative. I meditate twice a day for 10-20 minutes and absolutely love it. It's a much a habit as brushing my teeth and equally as important!
The are many apps and resources available to help you learn to meditate or practice mindfulness including:
HappiMe - this is an app I created a couple of years ago. Not only does it have short 5 minute mindful bites, it also has the facility to create playlists of your own 'helpful thoughts' to keep you calm, motivated or confident.
Insight Timer - my favourite (so much so that I will write a blog on it shortly)
Headspace - great 10 minute for 10 day challenge
Calm - another great resource.
