Tip 298) 9 Reasons why all businesses should build a mailing list!

Build your list! We've all heard it. We know we probably should do it, but most of us don't know how or why.

Building a mailing list you can market to is hugely beneficial, regardless of your business.

Here are 9 reasons why you should build your list:
  • Sending regular emails builds trust. As long as you are adding value and not trying to sell to your prospects every time, the more they see you, the more familiar you become and the more likely they are to buy from you.
  • Regular contact keeps you foremost in their mind. One of the main reasons customers take their business elsewhere is because they forget about you. Something new and shiny comes along and grabs their attention instead.
  • According to Campaign Monitor, email is 40% more effective at acquiring new customers than FB or Twitter.
  • You are 6 times more likely to get a click-through to your website from an email rather than a tweet.
  • You own your data. Many people build their business using FB, Google, Instagram, etc. These companies can change what they do at any time - this has the potential to cripple your business if you rely on leads coming just from these sources.
  • It's a more direct way to market to your prospects or clients and doesn't rely on FB's constantly changing algorithms.  On average, your FB message will only reach 1-2% of your fans and followers.
  • It's the fastest way to let people know about any new products or services you are offering.
  • Around 22% of your emails will get lost in spam, but that still means 78% are getting through.
  • Emails often sit in inboxes for a while. Social media updates are gone in minutes.

Friday's post (Tip 300) will tell you how!

Have a great one!
