? The cheese has moved!

​📖 Many of you may have heard of a lovely little book about change called Who Moved My Cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson.

It’s about 4 characters that live in a maze called Hem & Haw (the little people) and Sniff & Scurry (the mice 🐭).

They all go every day to the same place to get their cheese.
They’ve been doing it for years.
They love the cheese there.
They like that it’s always there.
They like that know where to find it!

Then one day, they arrive to collect their cheese and it’s gone! Nothing. Nada. Just an empty cheese store.

🐭 Sniff & Scurry enthusiastically run off to find new cheese, whilst Hem & Haw return to the same place each day, moaning and complaining that there is no cheese and hoping that it will return.

Eventually, Haw releases the cheese is not coming back, so he sets off in search of new cheese. He tries to persuade Hem to join him but he’s not having any of it - adamant that he prefers this cheese, so he’ll just wait for it to come back.

So… off Haw sets, leaving writing on the wall for Hem if he chooses to follow him. When he finds the new store, 🐭 Sniff and Scurry are already there, stuffing their little mouse tummies with the lovely new cheese!

I’ve told this story a few times recently because the cheese has definitely moved for most of us.

✅How long many people stay in a role has changed.

✅The supply chain has changed.

✅What our customers/clients/service users expect has changed.

The cheese has moved!!
