The word joy has come up a lot for me over the last few weeks. I felt that there wasn’t enough of it in my life, that I was missing out on it and even that there was something wrong with me because I didn’t feel enough of it!

Then I realised that I needed to redefine my definition of joy.

Previously the word brought up visions of stock images that I’d seen on social media of people jumping up in the air in absolute ecstasy!! Or of women (usually) being swung around laughing, by what I am assuming are strong men (usually) on movies...

The BIGGEST problem I see when it comes to setting personal, professional, and business goals, especially around this time of year...

Great end game goal but NO performance goals!

In other words, a ton of thinking / planning / plotting / mapping / dreaming / vision boarding goes into creating SMART goals for the year, and not nearly enough 'who does what by when.'

Your performance goals are the specific steps you or your team will take daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly to ensure that you will achieve your end game goal, and are planned AND measured weekly. (Ideally with someone external holding you accountable.)

I absolutely love reading and learning new things. Good job really as I have to keep current for my business!

My vote is for a book that's had an incredible impact on my life - The Inside Out Revolution (The Only Thing You Need to Know to Change Your Life Forever) by Michael Neill.

Totally life changing stuff! It gave me a completely different perspective on life and helped me to really see how success and happiness can be effortless. I can't recommend it highly enough!

I honestly believe that everyone is capable of far more than they realise. I also believe that we all deserve to live happy, more fulfilled lives. Unfortunately, most people will go through life believing that this is just not true for them. They settle. They justify. And give up on their dreams.

I challenge you to start dreaming again.

Does anyone actually like doing follow-up calls? I don't think I've met anyone who actually enjoys this process, mainly due to good old "fear of rejection".  (see Tip 86 Sales Beliefs)

I believe that the energy you generate when you are pitching your business or following up your prospects has a huge influence on your results. Being focused and upbeat with good positive energy will bring you far more clients than if you are anxious and worried about making the call. Your prospect will sense it a mile away. We want to be around positive and upbeat people and are naturally drawn to them.
