I was recently asked what my top tips for success were, so here they are! They will work whether you are a business, NGO, or charity!
1. Establish both a short and long-term vision, then plan on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. 2. Concentrate on your lead measures, which are the everyday tasks that will assist you in achieving your objectives. Make them quantifiable and specific... Well, what if I told you there's a way to inject some spirituality into your business practices and make your workplace a happier, more fulfilling place?
Is there really a place for spirituality in business? Now there's a question! I know what you're thinking – "Spirituality? In business? That sounds like a recipe for disaster." But hear me out. Practices like meditation, gratitude, and compassion can actually lead to increased focus, reduced stress, and improved teamwork. Plus, it's a great excuse to wear your yoga pants to the office! Here are some examples of companies that have incorporated spirituality into their workplace culture... When it comes to achieving our goals, we often focus on changing our actions or behaviors. We think that if we work harder, work longer, or work smarter, we'll be able to accomplish what we want. But what if the key to success wasn't in what we do, but in what we believe?
The truth is that our beliefs shape our actions. If we believe that we're not good enough, we won't put in the effort to achieve our goals. If we believe that success is impossible, we won't even try. But when we change what we believe, we change what we do. By shifting our mindset from one of self-doubt to one of self-confidence, we can unlock our full potential. When we believe that we can achieve our goals, we're willing to put in the effort and take the necessary risks. We're no longer held back by fear or self-doubt...
"Here’s the deal, my friend: Profit is not an event. Profit is not something that happens at year-end or at the end of your five-year plan or someday. Profit isn’t even something that waits until tomorrow. Profit must happen now and always. Profit must be baked into your business. Every day, every transaction, every moment. Profit is not an event. Profit is a habit." - Mike Michalowicz, Profit First
Yes! Here, here! I totally agree. 😀 Whilst the above quote may seem a little like common sense, as we know common sense is not always as common as you'd think... Great end game goal but NO performance goals!
In other words, a ton of thinking / planning / plotting / mapping / dreaming / vision boarding goes into creating SMART goals for the year, and not nearly enough 'who does what by when.' Your performance goals are the specific steps you or your team will take daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly to ensure that you will achieve your end game goal, and are planned AND measured weekly. (Ideally with someone external holding you accountable.) I absolutely love reading and learning new things. Good job really as I have to keep current for my business!
My vote is for a book that's had an incredible impact on my life - The Inside Out Revolution (The Only Thing You Need to Know to Change Your Life Forever) by Michael Neill. Totally life changing stuff! It gave me a completely different perspective on life and helped me to really see how success and happiness can be effortless. I can't recommend it highly enough! What about you? What book has changed your life this year? Who has either a bad habit that you want to break or a good habit that you want to create? Pretty much all of us, I think!
Here are some bad habits you may want to get rid of and some good ones you may need to adopt! Bad habits that you may want to stop since they are likely to be hindering your success: -Flitting from one thing to another |
