Tip 100) TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for 2021!

31/12/2018

Today's blog is about taking total responsibility for the upcoming year right now. For your health, your weight, your relationships, your career, your business and your life choices.

This is not about blaming yourself or beating yourself up. It’s simply about accepting that, for the most part, you are where you are because of your thoughts and actions.

Many years of coaching have taught me that people who do not take responsibility for their lives are unlikely to succeed in making significant changes.
You are in control of your attitude, your thoughts and your actions. And you always have been, but maybe you just didn’t realise it.

“Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words.
Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions.
Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits.
Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character.
Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny.”

You always have the power to change how you feel about any aspect of your life. You may not be able to change the situation, but you can change the way you feel about it.

It’s only when you acknowledge and accept that everything you are, or will ever be, is up to you. That you can eliminate the excuse-making that so often prevents you from succeeding.

When you first recognise this fact, it can seem like a huge responsibility. Why is it all up to little ol' me? When you accept that you are responsible for every action you take and every decision you make, you come to understand that there is virtually nothing that you can’t achieve. How empowering is that?

Cheering you on!

Tip 99) 97 things to say to yourself that will improve  your self-esteem and self-confidence

Being a small business owner, sole trader or entrepreneur can be scary and lonely and can often leave us full of doubts and worries.

Should we do it this way or that way?
How do I market myself?
That flyer or this flyer?
This price or that price?

...and on and on it goes.

We have somewhere around 30–60,000 thoughts per day and most of them are neutral or negative. How often do you pat yourself on the back and tell yourself how great you are? If you are like most, then not very often. (If ever!)

Tip 98) Understand that it's not what's in your glass that's important...

The standard “glass half-full or half-empty” saying is often used to emphasise the difference between positive and negative thinking, or optimism and pessimism. The expression is so well known that people and personality types are often referred to as “glass-half-full” or “glass-half-empty”.

Personally, I don’t think what is in your glass is anywhere near as important as how you feel about what’s in your glass. If you look at the half-empty part of your glass and fret, worry or get angry about what’s missing – you will never be happy. And if you look at the half-full part of the glass and get cross or upset at what’s in there – you will never be happy either.

Tip 97) Want to create a beautiful word cloud?

WordArt.com is a great online word cloud creator that enables you to create unique word clouds. You can customise every bit of your word cloud art, including words, shapes, fonts, colours and layouts.

It's great fun experimenting with shapes and colours. You just click 'visualise' to see the results and download the image. It's really simple and free (we like free!). You can pay for a higher quality image for printing, but the free images are fine for blogs and websites.

Happy cloud creating!
