Bonus Tip ) Check your message requests on social media

If you are going to take the time to promote yourself on social media, please, please, please get into the habit of checking your message request box daily.
If someone is not on your friends list. they will NOT show up in your main messenger inbox. I have emailed a few businesses recently  and can see a week later that they have still not seen the message. You could be losing loads of business! 

Here's how to check your filtered messages on FB messenger...​
  • Messages from friends or pages you’ve sent a message to will go into your regular Messenger inbox. www.facebook.com/messages
  • Messages from someone Facebook thinks you might know will appear as a Message Request at the very top of your inbox. ​www.facebook.com/messages/requests
  • Messages from non-friends, assumed by Facebook to be spam, are sent to your Filtered Messages. (www.facebook.com/messages/filtered)
How to check filtered messages and message requests on Facebook.com.
  • Click on the speech bubble and in the top left you will see Recent \ Message requests. It defaults to recent). At the bottom of your list, you will see filtered requests. Check that too!
Where to find messages on Instagram?
  • When someone you follow sends you a message on Instagram, you can view it by tapping  in the top right of Feed.
  • If someone you don’t follow sends you a message, it’ll appear as a request in your inbox.
Where to find direct messages on Twitter.
  • ​If you have the Receive messages from anyone setting enabled, incoming messages from people you don’t follow will appear as Requests in the Messages tab. New group conversations that you’re added to by people you don’t follow will also appear in Requests.
