Happy Reading!

Let's face it; being a leader or manager can be manic

Many of us juggle our businesses & careers around our partners, kids, school runs and caring for elderly parents. That's before we even fit in seeing our friends, housework, shopping and general stuff like doctors and dentists!

🏃‍♀️Most of us hit the ground running as soon as we wake up and often don't stop until late at night. When I first started in business, I was often on my computer until 10 or 11 at night!

Whilst I am very results driven, I am also very holistic in my coaching and mentoring style. I passionately believe that a healthy mind, body and spirit is needed for true success and happiness in life.

Here are five crucial reasons why you should slow down and take regular breaks.
1. Increased productivity. Regular breaks have been proven to significantly increase your performance by replenishing your mental resources and creativity. You'll be more focused and feel more positive.

2.You'll make better decisions. Research shows that taking regular breaks helps you to think things through more logically. When you are tired or stressed, you often go for the easiest option, which is not necessarily the best option.

3.Your body is not designed to be in constant stress mode. Don't kid yourself that you are at your best under pressure.

4.Get off your chair – it's killing you! Constant sitting puts you at increased risk of depression, heart disease and diabetes.

5.Short Mindful 5-15 minute breaks helps to improve your memory as your brain is able to review, sort and integrate what you’ve learned.

So... Stop being so busy!

Slow down.

Have regular breaks.

Go for a quick walk.

Meditate.

Take a power nap.

Aim to have a break every three hours at least. Your body and mental health thank you for it!

What about you? What do you do to de-stress during the day?
