Unfortunately, many accidental managers never receive the management training they require. They are frequently left to their own devices, which can result in issues with their teams, such as high employee attrition, low morale, inefficiency, and decreased profitability.
Not to mention the fact that the manager feels pretty crap about themselves! I suspect that most of us want to feel positive about what we've accomplished that day. Constantly believing that you are inadequate, that your coworkers do not value you, or that your manager dislikes you might lead to mental health problems. I've guided hundreds of managers, and the two most important skills they all needed were DISC profiling (how to communicate with and manage each of the four profile types) and self-management (including planning, prioritising and handling stress). In my opinion, these should be compulsory! Have you ever found yourself in a position of management by accident?
