Is it really time to invest in your workforce now? Or perhaps it's time to practise self-control, batten down the hatches, tighten the belt, etc? Sadly, people development is frequently the first thing to be postponed in hard times. Even if some people's budgets are undoubtedly tighter, I believe it is now more important than ever to demonstrate to our teams that we value them by supporting their growth. BUT... 💲 That coaching or training MUST demonstrate a return on investment.
🎯 It MUST align with the company goals. ⌚️ It MUST be relevant right now. They MUST be able to use it right away to help the company. 🗯️ You MUST to get immediate feedback from your team. How will they put what they learned to use? Ask them to give it a value and relevancy rating on a scale of 1 to 10. ✔️ And you MUST assess retention three months later when you go back to the training. Within a month, you will forget the majority of what you learned today. I much prefer coaching's "drip drip" effect over one-hit training for this reason. Your investment in your workforce will pay off if you take all of the above steps. There is a good probability that it won't if you don't! Thoughts? Is it a good time to invest in your staff?
