I think we will all agree that being a small business owner or entrepreneur can be lonely. We are expected to have all the answers, but we don't. We think we should be jumping out of bed every day raring to build a fantastic business, but we aren't...
We think we should be super-motivated every single minute of every single day, but some days we just want a duvet day. And very occasionally we may want to go back to when life was easy and somebody else just told us what to do all day!
We are often scared, lonely, unsure, anxious, annoyed, unmotivated, uninspired, frustrated and upset. We worry about how much money we are making (or not making!), we worry what flyer we should use, whether networking will work for us, or how the hell to work out our VAT.
Being a small business owner can be tough, which is why I am passionate about surrounding myself with people who can motivate and inspire me. Ideally that would be in person, but sometimes that is not possible, so thank goodness for books, audiobooks, podcasts and YouTube. I consider myself to be a pretty successful woman and I owe that to the 100s of mentors that have found their way to me over the last 30 years since I read my very first self-help book (The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy).
This video contains two of my all-time favourites: Tony Robbins and Les Brown. I'm looking forward to sharing a lot more of my mentors with you in future blogs.
I hope you enjoy
