Tip 222) 9 reasons you should write your bucket list

I honestly believe that everyone is capable of far more than they realise. I also believe that we all deserve to live happy, more fulfilled lives. Unfortunately, most people will go through life believing that this is just not true for them. They settle. They justify. And give up on their dreams.

I challenge you to start dreaming again.

What would you like to be different in your life? If failure wasn’t an option, what would you do? If you could wake up tomorrow in your dream life, what would be different? Would you be in the same job or business? Same relationship? Same weight or fitness level?
Would you live in the same place with the same people? Would you have new friends, new hobbies? Would you travel? Start a business? Learn a new skill?

Start to think about what you would like to BE, DO and HAVE in life. Write your "101 bucket list". A list of 101 things you would like to be, do or have before you die.

9 super reasons you should have a bucket list:
  1. Writing goals down makes you think about what you want from life.
  2. According to a study by Dr Gail Matthews at the Dominican University of California, you are 42% more likely to achieve something that you have written down.
  3. Looking at what you have achieved makes you feel great.
  4. You are leveraging the Law of Attraction (more on that later).
  5. It gives you focus.
  6. It keeps you motivated.
  7. It's fun and rewarding.
  8. It gives you purpose.
  9. It gives you direction.

Tips for creating great bucket lists:
  • Let your imagination run wild and dream big.
  • Think “How can I?” rather than “I can’t”.
  • Don’t worry about the how.
  • Put dates on your goals, especially the ones you would like to achieve over the next few years.
  • Think outside the box. Check out bucketlist.org – it has nearly 6 million goals listed, from ghost hunting to kayaking through caves.
  • Target different areas of your life: hobbies, finances, career or business, relationships, etc.
  • Make sure you include some easy goals. When we achieve, our bodies release dopamine, a feel-good chemical that spurs us on.
  • Don’t try to do it all at once. Most people have to come back to it a few times to get to 101.
  • Make a list with your partner (if you have one), or make a family 101 list and get the kids involved.
  • Get pictures of your goals and create a dream board (also a great one to do as a family).
