Strong positive relationships are crucial to success and happiness in all areas of our life. Unfortunately, we live busy, hectic lives and it can be really easy for the days, weeks, months, and even years, to pass before we take the time to tell people how we feel about them.

Sometimes we never do. We just assume that they know.

Here are 10 simple strategies to nurture relationships in both our business and personal lives:

  • Spend time brainstorming ideas of thoughtful things you can do for your friends, family or clients.
  • Dedicate time to them. Plan a date night, mate night or kid’s night in your diary if you have to.
  • Send them a thank you card.
  • Each week pick a relationship in need of strengthening and invest time and energy in cultivating it.
  • Remember to compliment.
  • Call or text and tell them how grateful you are to have them in your life.
  • Send a handwritten note to someone you haven’t seen in a while and tell them something nice.
  • Take note when people do a good job and give recognition when it’s due.
  • Reward effort. If someone does something nice for you, do something nice for them.
  • If you just found out that you only had 24 hours left to live, who would you call and what would you tell them? Don’t wait to be told that you only have 24 hours to live. Call them now. I wish I had called my mum every day and told her that I loved her. I can't do that now. Don't leave it too late.

Reminding you of the important things...
