Unfortunately, left to their own devices your team can pretty much set their own rules of the game. If you are not holding them accountable to their tasks and responsibility then, sorry to be brutal but, you deserve what you are getting. The answer is to be prepared to hold your team accountable and for there to be consequences for not following instructions. Many people are too worried about being nice and being liked, so they don't speak their minds. It's your business, so it's up to you to have the difficult conversations.
