They just see a problem that needs fixing. But often the problem they think needs fixing is just a symptom of a very different issue altogether.
For example... A leader who wanted customer service training didn't need customer service training at all. She needed a customer service process! She had a great team but there was no process for them to follow, so they all did their own thing. Selling her customer service training would have been just wrong! Instead, we helped her map out and implement the process first and THEN did the training. That's one of the (many 😀) huge benefits of having a commercially aware business coach extraordinaire heading up a team of remarkable trainers! So this is why we never sell off the shelf management courses or coaching programmes. What you think you want is not always what you want at all! Every client we've ever worked with started with an in-depth diagnostic session. That way we can be really clear on the problem before giving our solution. And most of our clients stay with us for a really long time, so I guess this strategy works! 😀 Another thing that makes us different is that we match our trainers to our clients not just by whoever is the most skilled trainer for the job, but by also by personality and DISC profile. It's vital that we get that right. Different profiles will fit different organisations. Another reason to make sure we have a true understanding of what is at the heart of an organisation.
