So, I'm taking a moment to give myself a pat on the back. To relish the win with a cup of peppermint tea! To feel proud of myself. Because I rarely did that in the past.
I've always been a high achiever and, like many of you, I used to jump from win to win, always striving, always trying to be the best I can be and never stopping to appreciate what I'd achieved. I was always thinking of what I could do next. How I could do it better. For me, it took a good ol' bout of breast cancer, losing my mum and finding out my husband was having an affair - all in one year (I kid you not - I even wrote a book about it!), to make me learn how to slow down and celebrate the wins. So, the tip today is to celebrate your wins. Crack open a bottle of wine or a peppermint tea and think of what you have achieved over the last six months. Even better - write them down. They don't have to be massive wins, just celebrate your positive steps forward. A new client, a new marketing strategy, learning a new skill, landing a new contract, finally understanding WordPress (still not there on that one myself!). Make a list and celebrate. Pat yourself on the back! Because you are awesome - I know that because you are reading this! Here's to the next six months... Jo x
